What is Neurophysiotherapy?

Neurophysiotherapy, as defined by the Australian Physiotherapy Association, is a branch of physiotherapy where therapists “manage people with movement disorders as a result of injuries and diseases of the brain, spinal cord and the broader neuromuscular system.”

What does treatment involve?

Patients are assessed individually to determine the reasons why they are finding moving difficult. Treatments are on a one-to- one basis; hence, programs are individualized and the progression of treatment is specific to each person.

To do this, the therapist requires deep knowledge and understanding of movement so as to analyse the problems effectively, and the skills to work with a patient to bring about improvement (in movement)

At Libby Bamford Neurophysiotherapy, I offer this specialised knowledge and experience, gathered over many years of practice.
